Damn she’s funny: Laura Solon

December 3, 2009

There are comments I should reply to, and posts I should be writing, but sometimes I need to take off my Loud Activist-y Trans WomanTM cap and do other things.

As one of those other things I like to do is laugh, I’m excited to discover that Laura Solon‘s Talking and Not Talking has begun its third season on BBC Radio 4. Solon is a damn funny, a performer in the tradition of great character comedians. Her radio show is a collection of short skits and monologues, and is often responsible for me self-consciously guffawing out loud in public while I listen on headphones.

If you’re not in the UK you should be able to listen to new episodes on the BBC iPlayer (non-UK residents can listen to radio shows on the iPlayer, but we can’t see TV shows). The first two series are available from Audible.com.

I’m downloading this. You’ve never steered my pop culture bus off course.
